A polar low will Monday afternoon develop in E2 and move south-eastward. Tuesday early morning the polar low is expected to hit the coast of More and Romsdal. The exact location is still uncertain. On the west side of the low locally north-westerly storm force winds and strong snow showers are expected. Abrupt change in wind speed and wind direction. It can be difficult to navigate due to snow, blowing snow and reduced visibility. Some journeys may have longer travel time. It can be locally difficult driving conditions due to heavy snowfall in combination with wind. The power supply may be impacted. Be aware of abrupt weather changes. Avoid unnecessary journeys to exposed places. Consider whether the journey is necessary. Check road reports (175.no). Use tires fit for winter conditions and use caution while driving.

From Monday afternoon blowing snow is expected due to snow and strong winds from west and northwest. Reduced visibility. Local driving conditions may become difficult due to snow accumulating on the road. Expect convoys and/or closed roads on short notice. Allow extra time for transportation and driving. Around 5-25 cm of snow is expected from Sunday afternoon, in the mountains there will be more. The snow level will initially be 200-300 meters, but will decrease during the afternoon, first in the north. In the outer regions, a combination of sleet and hail is initially expected, but later on will precipitation come as snow. Vulnerable infrastructure can be affected due to accumulation of snow. Travel time may increase on some journeys. Local driving conditions may become difficult. Blowing snow at higher altitudes causes reduced visibility and possibly convoys and/or closed roads. The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors.
