Special Weather Statement issued February 27 at 3:31AM EST by NWS Albany NY A fast moving area of snow continues to overspread the region early this morning producing a quick coating to 1 of snow before changing to rain between 6 and 9 am. Temperatures will hover around 32 degrees during the transition from snow to rain so pockets of freezing rain will be possible before temperatures rise above freezing later this morning. Between the light snow accumulations plus potential for a glaze of ice from freezing rain, slippery travel conditions are possible during today's morning commute. Motorists should travel cautiously this morning by slowing down and allow extra time.
