Locations: West Coast of Vancouver Island from Tofino to Clo-oose, including Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Maximum wave heights: 3 to 4 meters, breaking upon approach to shore along shorelines exposed to open ocean. Time Span: Wednesday during high tide. High tide: Mid to late morning. Remarks: Waves and pounding surf will produce higher than normal water levels along the coast, especially near high tide. Water levels could reach 50 to 60 cm above the normal highest tide. The combined effect may push water and debris into low-lying areas and parking lots, especially at locations that have been prone to impacts during similar events in the past. Beach-goers can be swept into the ocean near rocky outcrops. Powerful waves can roll logs and heavy debris along the beach.
