winter storm watch in effect Strong winds, heavy rain, heavy snow, and freezing rain is expected. Where: Terrace, Kitimat, and Prince Rupert especially inland and near the coastal inlets. When: From late Friday night until Sunday night. What: A low pressure system will approach the North Coast on Friday as a ridge of high pressure builds over the B.C. interior. Strong southerly winds along coastal areas, strong cold outflow winds through mainland inlets and valleys, heavy rain at coastal areas, and precipitation encountering cold outflow winds leading to heavy snow and a risk of freezing rain are possible as the system moves onshore. Later Sunday, warmer temperatures and heavy rain could lead to rain-on-snow and possible flooding in low-lying areas, slushy conditions and travel delays. Heavy rain could continue throughout the first week of December. ### Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
