Expected snowfall: 20 to 35 cm (highest over the eastern Avalon). Maximum wind gusts: northerly 110 km/h (strongest Monday morning). Similar storms in the past have caused: - school closures and cancellations of scheduled activities - disruptions to public services - scattered utility outages - disruptions and delays to road, air and maritime transportation. Remarks: Snow, at times heavy, will combine with very strong winds to create blizzard conditions with near zero visibility in blowing snow. Snowfall rates of 2 to 5 cm per hour are possible over some areas. ### Winter storm watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
