winter storm watch in effect Significant snowfall, rainfall, and strong winds are expected. Locations: L'Anse-au-Clair to Cartwright. Total snowfall: potentially exceeding 30 cm over higher terrain. Potential maximum wind gusts: northeasterly 70 to 90 km/h inland and 90 to 110 km/h along the coast. Time span: Sunday evening until Monday afternoon. Remarks: Snow is expected to begin late Sunday afternoon and will likely change to rain along parts of the coast Sunday evening. Snowfall and rainfall amounts will vary considerably depending on elevation and proximity to the coast. Significant snowfall accumulations are likely over higher terrain along the Trans Labrador Highway by Monday afternoon. The snow combined with strong winds will make travel difficult. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions. ### Winter storm watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
