snow squall warning in effect Winter weather travel advisory upgraded to snow squall warning. What: Local snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm. Poor visibility in areas of heavy snow and local blowing snow. When: Continuing into Tuesday morning. Where: Areas east of Georgian Bay including Highways 400, 69 and 11. Additional information: Lake effect snow off Georgian Bay has intensified more than originally expected. As a result, the winter weather travel advisory has been upgraded to a snow squall warning. Conditions will improve Tuesday with the passage of a cold front as winds become more northwesterly. ### Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.
