Snowfall amounts near 15 cm possible. Reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow. When: Tonight into Saturday night. Additional information: Patchy freezing rain is possible today. Freezing rain will become heavier and more widespread tonight and will be mixed with ice pellets at times. There is potential that areas over southern portions of the region may change over to rain this afternoon and this evening. All precipitation will change over to snow by late Saturday morning, with gusty winds leading to reduced visibility in blowing snow. There remains some uncertainty with the track of this low pressure system which may affect snowfall amounts and precipitation types. ### Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
