snow squall warning in effect Snow squalls continuing into tonight. Hazards: Snow amounts 20 to 40 cm. Very poor to near zero visibility at times in heavy snow. Peak snowfall rates of 10 cm per hour. Timing: Continuing into tonight. Discussion: Snow amount confidence is highest for shore areas near Georgian Bay. Highway 400 and Highway 11 is expected to be impacted. There is some uncertainty with snow amounts farther inland as the snow band is expected to shift throughout the event. ### Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Road closures are possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
