A period of freezing rain is possible during the changeover, making some roads icy and slippery. Later on, a major weather system will develop along the American Eastern Seaboard and will track over Quebec overnight Wednesday night, bringing significant rainfall amounts and temperatures well above the freezing mark. Ponding of water is likely to occur on roads and in low lying areas. A significant rise in the flow and level of certain bodies of water is expected. In addition, winds associated with this system will be strong to high locally, especially along the coastline. Loose objects could be carried away or moved. The combination of high tides and strong southeasterly winds could produce breaking waves over the Eastern Gaspé Peninsula, Anticosti and the North Shore between Port-Cartier and Natashquan.
