special weather statement in effect A weather system will bring possibly difficult wintry conditions for the next few days. First, snowfall amounts from 10 to 15 cm will be possible on Wednesday. Between 2 and 5 mm of freezing rain could then fall overnight Wednesday night, giving locally slippery conditions. This ice accretion will be accompanied by very strong winds. These conditions may weaken ice covered tree limbs, further increasing the risk of limbs breaking and causing power outages. Thursday morning, temperatures will briefly rise, causing the freezing rain to change over to rain. However, a rapid drop in temperatures late in the day could lead to a sudden freeze. Ice may redevelop on roads. Thursday evening, snow combined with strong winds will return, possibly causing very poor visibilities in blowing snow through Friday. Consider changing any non-essential travel plans for this period. Prepare for possible power outages. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
