special weather statement in effect Explosive coastal growth. A major weather system will develop along the American Eastern Seaboard and will track over Quebec overnight Wednesday night, bringing significant rainfall amounts and temperatures well above the freezing mark. Ponding of water is likely to occur on roads and in low lying areas. A significant rise in the flow and level of certain bodies of water is expected. In addition, winds associated with this system will be strong at times. Small, loose objects could be carried away or moved. Finally, a rapid drop in temperatures on Thursday morning could lead to sudden freezing of various surfaces. You should consider the possibility of advancing or delaying any non essential travel plans you may have during this period. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
