rainfall warning in effect Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. Hazards: 30 to 40 millimetres of rain. Timing: Beginning this evening until Wednesday evening. Discussion: Rain, at times heavy, will start this evening. Rain may taper off on Wednesday morning, but it is expected to reintensify again on Wednesday afternoon. Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 mm are possible by Wednesday evening before rain changes to snow as temperatures drop below the freezing mark. Given the frozen ground, significant amounts of water due to snowmelt and rain could accumulate on roads and low-lying areas. Roads and sidewalks might become slippery with the temperatures dropping significantly overnight on Wednesday, and travel may be impacted. There is still some uncertainty in regards to which areas will receive the highest rainfall amounts. ### Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #QCStorm.
