rainfall warning in effect Heavy rain mid week. What: Rainfall amounts near 30 mm are expected. When: Tuesday evening until overnight Wednesday night. Where: From the Ottawa Valley toward the Laurentians and Lanaudière areas. Additional information: A low pressure system will bring rain over Southern Quebec Wednesday through overnight Wednesday night. As the frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb the rain, significant amounts of water could accumulate on roads and inland. Following the rain, a drop in temperatures expected overnight Wednesday night could lead to a flash freeze of standing water. Roads may become slippery, causing poor travel conditions and travel delays Thursday morning. In addition, the drop in temperatures will be accompanied by flurries reducing visibilities and possibly giving a few centimetres of snow locally. Consider changing any non-essential travel plans for this period. ### Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #QCStorm. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
