snowfall warning in effect Prolonged period of snow Where: Watson Lake When: Now through Tuesday night What: Total snowfall accumulations of up to 50 cm by early Wednesday morning Remarks: A series of Pacific frontal systems will bring prolonged periods of snow to northern BC and southern Yukon. Snowfall has already begun over the Watson Lake region and will intensify tonight as the first front moves through, with 25 to 35 cm expected by Monday night. The snow will ease early Tuesday morning before a second front arrives late Tuesday. This will bring another round of heavy snow Tuesday night, adding 10 cm to the total accumulation. A ridge of high pressure is expected to bring a relatively dry period for the remainder of the work week. ### Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
