Special Weather Statement issued November 13 at 9:19PM AKST by NWS Juneau AK Details: A front will bring precipitation to the region starting late Thursday night persisting into Friday. Given the forecasted cool temperatures in place and precipitation rates, there is potential to see 2-4" of snow along the Icy Strait corridor by late morning Friday. Snow impacts will be directly tied to precip rates and how fast the warm elevated southerly winds associated with the front will erode the existing antecedent cool airmass. Expecting rain to become the dominate precip type at sea level later Friday afternoon. Overall, this is a low confidence low impact event.
