Do not spend extra time in the cold. Wear layers of warm clothes a hat, and gloves. Check on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.

Total snow accumulations between 4 and 10 inches with heaviest amounts across northwest Arkansas. Gusty north winds will cause areas of blowing and some drifting of snow. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Arkansas and east central and northeast Oklahoma. * WHEN...Until 3 AM CST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
