Despite recent precipitation, breezy winds and warmer temperatures this weekend will work to dry out fuels by Monday. Fires have the potential to spread rapidly. The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Parts of Southern and South Central Iowa * WIND...Southwest winds at 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * HUMIDITY...From 25 to 30% in the afternoon. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
