Cold Weather Advisory issued January 20 at 1:57AM CST until January 21 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 38 below. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, southwest, and west central Minnesota. * WHEN...Until noon CST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
