Flood Watch issued February 15 at 2:45AM CST until February 16 at 6:00AM CST by NWS Memphis TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of East Arkansas, including the following areas, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Greene, Lee AR, Mississippi, Phillips, Poinsett and St. Francis, North Mississippi, including the following areas, Alcorn, Benton MS, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Coahoma, DeSoto, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee MS, Marshall, Monroe, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union and Yalobusha, Southeast Missouri, including the following areas, Dunklin and Pemiscot, and West Tennessee, including the following areas, Benton TN, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton and Weakley. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are expected across much of the Mid-South. Little Tallahatchie Canal at Etta For the Little Tallahatchie River...including Etta...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Little Tallahatchie Canal at Etta. * WHEN...Until early Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, County Road 47 near Mud Creek and Mill Creek has 6 to 12 inches of water over it. Several thousand acres of cropland are flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 PM CST Friday the stage was 19.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Sunday afternoon to a crest of 25.9 feet early Monday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Monday morning. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
