Extreme Cold Watch issued February 16 at 1:26AM MST until February 19 at 11:00AM MST by NWS Great Falls MT * WHAT...Low temperatures of 15 to 35 degrees below zero and dangerously cold wind chills as low as 55 below zero are possible. * WHERE...Eastern Pondera and Eastern Teton Counties, Western and Central Chouteau County, Bears Paw Mountains and Southern Blaine, and Fergus County below 4500ft. * WHEN...From this evening through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While temperatures and subsequent wind chills will moderate some during the daylight hours the prolonged period of wind chills of 20 degrees below zero or colder will add to the stress on people and livestock. Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.
