Likelihood of major impacts from snow is up to 80 percent. Additional snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches, except 10 to 16 inches along Interstate 90 from Lookout Pass to Alberton, Noxon to Thompson Falls and Evaro Hill. * WHERE...Highway 200 Thompson Falls to Plains, Evaro Hill, I-90 Lookout Pass to Haugan, and Highway 200 Trout Creek to Heron. * WHEN...Until 11 AM MST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. For MAJOR impacts from snow, expect considerable disruptions to normal activities. Dangerous or impossible traveling conditions. Avoid travel in the impacted areas if possible. Widespread closures and disruptions to infrastructure may occur. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes, especially over higher passes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snow rates of 1 to 2 inch per hour will redevelop by Tuesday evening and continue overnight. The blowing and drifting will be the worst along I-90 east of Superior, Highway 135 between St. Regis and Paradise and Highway 200 just east of Thompson Falls.
