For the Coastal Flood Advisory, 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...East Carteret County, and Ocracoke Island and Hatteras Island. * WHEN...Until 5 PM EDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.

Wind Advisory issued March 11 at 3:33AM EDT until March 11 at 10:00AM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC * WHAT...North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 to 50 mph. * WHERE...East Carteret County, and Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
