Cold Weather Advisory issued February 20 at 2:01PM EST until February 21 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 9 above expected. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina. * WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Frostbite can occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures for more than 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can also cause hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Bring pets inside, and check on the elderly.
