Beach Hazards Statement issued March 14 at 7:47PM PDT until March 16 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Portland OR * WHAT...Sneaker waves possible. * WHERE...North and Central Coast of Oregon, and South Washington Coast. * WHEN...From late Saturday night through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Waves can run up significantly farther on a beach than normal, including over rocks and jetties. Sneaker waves can suddenly knock people off of their feet and quickly pull them into the frigid ocean which may lead to serious injury or drowning. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Keep children and pets away from the surf zone. Keep off of jetties, rocks and logs near the surf zone. If you see someone swept into the sea do not swim in after them. Call 911 and keep an eye on them until help arrives. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

Flood Watch issued March 14 at 10:00AM PDT until March 16 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Portland OR * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of west central Oregon, including the following areas, Benton County Lowlands, Cascade Foothills of Marion and Linn Counties, Central Coast of Oregon, Central Oregon Coast Range, Central Oregon Coast Range Lowlands, Lane County Cascade Foothills, Lane County Lowlands and Linn County Lowlands. * WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People, structures, and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons, and near the mouths of canyons may be at risk from landslides. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An atmospheric river directed towards southwest Oregon will bring periods of heavy rain, with rain rates as high as 0.20 to 0.40 inches per hour. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
