Ice Storm Warning issued February 13 at 2:39AM PST until February 14 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Portland OR * WHAT...Significant icing. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches and ice accumulations up to three tenths of an inch. * WHERE...Central and Southern Willamette Valley, Central Oregon Coast Range Lowlands, and Central Oregon Coast Range. * WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Friday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause power outages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation begins as mixed snow and freezing rain Wednesday night. Precipitation will transition over to primarily freezing rain by Thursday midday. The Thursday morning commute will be affected. Due to areas of freezing rain, power outages are possible. Travel is strongly discouraged, unless it is an emergency. If you leave the safety of being indoors, you are putting your life at risk. Walking surfaces will be icy and slick. Use extra caution if you have to walk outdoors.

Cold Weather Advisory issued February 13 at 2:42AM PST until February 13 at 12:00PM PST by NWS Portland OR * WHAT...Cold wind chills ("feels like") as low as 10 degrees below expected. * WHERE...Northern and Central Cascades and Foothills in Oregon, Central and Southern Willamette Valley, South Washington and North and Central Oregon Coast, Northern and Central Coast Range Valleys and Mountains of Oregon, Willapa Hills and Adjacent River Valleys of Pacific and Wahkiakum Counties, Lower Columbia River and Cowlitz River Valleys, South Washington Cascades and Foothills, and Outer Southeast Portland Metro. * WHEN...Until noon PST today. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 5 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Those planning to venture outdoors should use common sense and dress warmly, making sure exposed skin is properly covered to prevent frostbite and/or hypothermia. Avoid being outdoors in wet conditions which can increase the risk of the body cooling down and becoming hypothermic.
