Special Weather Statement issued March 2 at 1:56PM EST by NWS Morristown TN An exceptionally dry air mass remains in place across the southern Appalachian region. Generally speaking, afternoon RH values are expected to drop into the 15 to 25 percent range across most of the area this afternoon, but areas in the southern Tennessee valley may see afternoon RH lower than 15 percent. Winds should be light today, but elevated fire danger levels may continue due to the very dry air in place.
