Flood Watch issued February 12 at 3:40AM CST until February 12 at 6:00PM CST by NWS Shreveport LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of east Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Nacogdoches and San Augustine. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rain and thunderstorms will increase across the area early this morning leading to an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Attoyac Bayou Near Chireno affecting Shelby, San Augustine, Nacogdoches and Rusk Counties. For the Attoyac Bayou...including Chireno...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Attoyac Bayou near Chireno. * WHEN...From this evening to Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Expect minor lowland flooding of boat ramps and pastures. Move livestock and equipment to higher ground. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 AM CST Wednesday the stage was 9.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 17.7 feet early Friday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.7 feet on 04/10/2018. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
