Fire Weather Watch issued March 3 at 4:08AM CST until March 4 at 7:00PM CST by NWS Houston/Galveston TX ...High to Very High Fire Danger on Tuesday... .A cold front is expected to move through the region Tuesday morning ushering in gusty and dry weather. Fuels remain a limiting factor for fire danger, and additional showers and storms out ahead of and along the cold front may moisten fuels further, but the relative humidity values below 20 percent and wind gusts to 30 to 35 mph will help worsen any wildfires that start. Winds diminish after sunset Tuesday with relative humidity values rebounding up to 40 to 50 percent overnight Tuesday. The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Burleson, Washington, Colorado, Austin, Wharton, Inland Jackson and Inland Matagorda. * TIMING...From late Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. * WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 to 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any wildfires that start could rapidly increase in size and intensity, and move quickly. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
