Red Flag Warning issued March 3 at 1:42PM CST until March 4 at 7:00PM CST by NWS San Angelo TX The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 9 AM to 7 PM CST Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Most of west central Texas. * TIMING...From 9 AM to 7 PM CST Tuesday. * WINDS...West 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Between 10 and 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will occur shortly. A combination of strong winds, low humidity and dry fuels will contribute to extreme fire behavior.

High Wind Warning issued March 3 at 1:31PM CST until March 4 at 7:00PM CST by NWS San Angelo TX * WHAT...West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...All of west central Texas. * WHEN...From 8 AM to 7 PM CST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Some power outages could also occur. Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles, especially on north-south roadways. A High Wind Warning means that dangerously strong winds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or higher are expected or occurring. Winds this strong will bring a threat to life and possibly cause property damage. Watch for downed trees and power lines. Secure loose outdoor objects. Expect hazardous driving conditions, especially for high profile vehicles. Caution should also be used if boating on area lakes due to choppy waters. People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows.
