Flood Watch issued January 30 at 2:20PM EST until February 1 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Blacksburg VA Heavy rain may fall on a deep primed snowpack leading to the melt increasing. Flows in rivers may increase quickly and reach critical levels. * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern Greenbrier, Mercer, Summers and Western Greenbrier. * WHEN...From 1 AM EST Friday through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall on top of residual snowpack will lead to increased runoff concerns. 1 to over 3 inches of rain is expected across the watch area. Rain rates could be heavy at times.
