Flood Warning issued February 6 at 11:06PM EST until February 7 at 11:00AM EST by NWS Blacksburg VA Rain over the last 24 hours is resulting in rising stream levels. * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Significant rises are also expected on the larger rivers. * WHERE...A portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following county, Greenbrier. * WHEN...Until 1100 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations may occur. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1057 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - The Greenbrier River at Renick, Ronceverte and Alderson are nearing bank full. - Roads near the river may be impacted by the high water levels. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
